2015-2016 Robin Copeland Memorial Fellowship: Call for Applications

CRDF Global is interested in soliciting applications from Mali and Egypt for the 2015-2016 Robin Copeland Memorial Fellowship (RCMF), and appreciates your assistance in sending out the attached application to women you believe are suitable for this fellowship and fit the following criteria:

1.          The fellow must be early-to-mid-career women.

2.          The fellow must have professional and academic experience or interest in international security and in gaining policy and technical subject matter expertise in biosecurity and biological weapons proliferation issues and dedicated to advancing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) nonproliferation norms and policies throughout their careers.

3.          The fellow must speak and understand English.

4.          The fellow must be willing to travel to the United States for six months.

 

The Fellowship:

·         Duration: The fellowship lasts for one-year, with six months in the United States and six months in Mali and Egypt.

·         Phases: The fellowship is broken into three phases as follows:

·         Phase I: Enroll in a three-month course at the Middlebury Institute for International Studies in Monterey, California focusing on nonproliferation topics. The fellow will write a final research paper at the conclusion of the program.

·         Phase II: Participate in a three-month internship at a leading nonproliferation organization based in Washington, D.C.

·         Phase III: Complete a capstone project in her home country over the duration of six months.

 

CRDF Global will work with the fellow while in the U.S. to further explain and prepare for this phase. The application submission deadline is May 10, 2015.
